Spartacus: Blood and Sand Official Trailer

Posted by Grey Sunday, January 17, 2010

Shaping up to be one of the more intriguing TV series of 2010, we take a sneak peek at Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

Renewed for a second season before even premiering, Spartacus: Blood and Sand is an upcoming Starz original TV series set to premiere on January 22nd, 2010 on Starz. Focusing on Spartacus, a Roman gladiator (in probably a star-making turn by Andy Whitfield, who had earlier shone in the titular role of little-known Australia film, Gabriel), who is poised to play a critical role against the Roman Republic, the TV series has been much touted as the "Boldest Show On Television" and advertised as featuring some of the most graphic sex scenes ever produced on television.

Here's the plot synopsis from the official site.

Betrayed by the Romans. Forced into slavery. Reborn as a Gladiator. The classic tale of the Republics most infamous rebel comes alive in the graphic and visceral new series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

Reminiscent of 300's own trailer, the official trailer of the show has lived up to its hype of graphic violence. It embedded below and warrants your viewing pleasure.
