Street Fighter IV: App Attack

Posted by Grey Friday, March 12, 2010

The boys are back in town. Just that, it's a whole new town.

Hell yes, the boys every fighting games enthusiasts know and love is back, and this time, they are invading a whole new town. Namely, iPhone's.

While a Street Fighter port to iPhone's thriving app store should not be too much of a surprise for iPhone zombies everywhere, the surprise is with the choice of Capcom's port: Street Fighter IV.

The first numbered Street Fighter game released by Capcom for the arcades since 1999, the critical acclaimed fighting game produced by Capcom was released in Japan on July 18, 2008 to all major gaming platforms, and was awarded as the Fighting Game of The Year at the 2009 VGAs on Spike T.V.

It is only natural then for one to remained doubtful for the graphic and gaming engine of this port, as the original Street Fighter IV were particularly famed for its graphical aspects, with the non-photorealistic rendering of the characters, along with the visual effects that are heavily accented in calligraphic strokes, ink smudges and ink sprays during the fights.

We shall see. In the meantime, check out the trailer.
