WHAM!!! Now take that back, Batman!

Continuing the keeping of score for the never-ending battle royale between two of the greatest comic characters-turned-pop culture icons.

With a brilliant display of one-up-man-ship, the Man of Steel struck back, with a vengeance, as another copy of Action Comics #1, the comic featuring Superman's debut, has been sold at a US auction for $1.5m (£995,500) - weeks after a Batman comic had fetched $1.075m.

Originally sold for 10 cents back in June 1938, Action Comics #1 has reclaimed the title of the highest price paid for a comic, the third time the record has been broken in recent weeks.

Interestingly, it was reported that the earlier copy of Superman's first appearance is in worse condition than the one that just made the record.

Accordingly, there are still one hundred copies of Action Comics #1 still in existence.

Nevertheless, It's a tie between both DC Comics icon now.
