Super Street Fighter IV Art Campaign And TV Spot

Posted by Grey Sunday, May 2, 2010

With the release of Super Street Fighter IV, the upgraded version of much-celebrated fighter, Street Fighter IV, let's take a brief look at the much-overlooked graphic campaign behind the game.

Not to be outdone in any area with the brilliant Super Street Fighter IV, Capcom, working with Ammirati, the advertising agency who did the cool stop-motion Tatsunoko VS. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars TV spot (which was mentioned here earlier), kick-started a new advertising campaign consisting of five different print ads, each featuring the talent of an emerging artist. Scroll down to view all of them.

With the renewed directions for Super SFIV to have a heavy emphasis on the art continuing from the previous iterations, everything from the gameplay graphic to the GCI video have been evidently registered with the ultra-stylish stroke of fusion consisting calligraphy, water color and ink alike. The tradition continued here with the marketing campaign. Starting out as a "notebook doodle" form, the refreshing series of graphic posters soon evolved into a full-animated TV advert campaign.

Inspired by the five respective artists commissioned for the print ads, the TV spot also featured all-new original music by record producer/rapper Just Blaze. Check it out right here.
