Call Of Duty: Black Ops Preview

Treyarch got down and dirty with its upcoming installment of the best-selling Call of Duty franchise.

The seventh installment of the long-running Call of Duty series and the fourth game in the series to be developed by Treyarch after Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call of Duty 3, and Call of Duty: World at War, Call Of Duty: Black Ops promised to be the most explosive title yet with its louder and bigger fire fight, helicopter assault and wide range of climate to fight.

A sequel to World at War, this time, the battlefield of the hard-hitting blockbuster First-Person Shooter action series is Cold War. Players can expect to fight their way out at exotic locales such as South Vietnam and the Ural Mountains in western Russia. As always, new equipments and weaponry are to be expected and up till now, a scoped crossbow as well as Dragon's Breath rounds for shotguns have been announced. In addition, players will get to pilot aircrafts such as the SR-71 Blackbird and a Hind helicopter during the campaign.

With well-choreographed action sequences, the excellent world premiere trailer which was released during last month's E3 2010 event might just be the very best trailer in the history of the entire "Call of Duty" series. Check it out right below.

Activision has since released a new cut of the trailer which featured Eminem's track "Won't Back Down".

Several notably hi-res screenshot images of the game are embedded below. Check them out too.

The official box art has also been unveiled.
