The Mirror of Retribution comes to Singapore! Too bad no sinners will actually be injured in the process. The metal fans, on the other hand, will have much to rejoice.

The premier Black Metal band in Taiwan, ChthoniC has went on to win several accolades worldwide, inclusive of landing the second place in both “best band” and “best album” by readers of the UK rock magazine Terrorizer in January, 2010, amongst other. A staunch supporter of of Taiwan Independence, the band was often involved in human rights activities against China, including the rally against the Taipei zoo panda exhibit in February 2009. Apart from their strong political stance, ChthoniC’s musical style distinctly differs from traditional western Heavy Metal bands by their in-depth emphasis on Taiwanese mythology, history, and mixes in traditional Taiwanese tunes and melodies created with five-note scale. Unable to label ChthoniC's music with western music categories like “black metal”, “death metal”, and “folk metal”, international music critics have went on to identified ChthoniC’s music as “heavy metal unique to Taiwan”.

On tour for their fifth album Mirror of Retribution, released by Spinefarm/Universal Music in August last year, ChthoniC will be performing at Republic Polytechnic in Singapore on this coming Saturday, 14th August. Ticketing details are as below.
