Resistance 3 Live-Action Teaser Trailer - Gamescom 2010

The Resistance against the alien SOBs, Chimera, struggles on. And this time, we are going all New York New York.

Long rumored but never confirmed since having its promotional billboard spotted on location set for Columbia Pictures's upcoming Sci-Fi film, Battle: Los Angeles in 2009, Sony and Insomniac Games's acclaimed First Person Shooter franchise, Resistance 3, was officially announced at Sony's Gamescom 2010 press conference on August 17. Accompanying the announcement was a unusual live-action teaser trailer for the game that have since making its rounds online. Without further ado, let's check out the trailer embedded below.

With a cool, bluesy rendition of Bob Dylan's classic, Masters of War, by The Staple Singers in the background, the trailer kicked off with a moving train that have just welcome a new member. As the passengers, all six of them, intently staring at the scenery as the train roll by, the world (America, in this case), as it seemed, has gone to hell, evidently as a result of a possible Chimeran occupation. Eventually, the lovely countryside turned into post-apocalyptic urban ruins as the train moved on into a tunnel. And from the darkness, the Chimera appears and an all too one-sided fight ensues with the final result, along with numerous question unanswered.

How long has it been since the final conflict at the end of Resistance 2? Has Nathan Hale truly died (as indicated at the end of Resistance 2)? After the upsetting resistance led by Hale in Resistance 2, has the Chimera retaken the United States? All these and more can only be answered when Resistance 3 hits the PlayStation 3 next year.

In our undead yet humble opinion, something definitely worth checking out next year.
