These are some exceedingly impressive images that are so gorgeous that you can't help but question reality. But that's Rocksteady Studios for you.

The ever-resourceful Joystiq has seemingly struck gold when they stumbled some pretty awesome screenshots of Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham City, which purportedly originated from an anonymous Flickr set which have since made its way onto NeoGAF.

While these twenty pieces of cool images might perhaps seemed too good to be true for some of you folks out there, we are quite certain that those who had their hands on its predecessor, 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum, would shared our positive view on the authenticity of these images. Given the higher budget promising even higher production values, it is absolutely reasonable to have a high expectation with this one.

We will be awfully surprised if these turned out to be not the real deal. Joystiq, with their theory of an intentional "leak" from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, sounded perfectly reasonable.

Without further ado, check out the images after the jump.

In addition, following the amazing covers from September issue of Game Informer, the September issue of PlayStation Official Magazine UK had also featured an exclusive image of the title on its cover. Check it out right after the jump.
