First announced in April 2008 by Electronic Arts, the dream team collaboration between Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and No More Heroes designer Goichi Suda was officially named at the Tokyo Game Show 2010.

Slated to be published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime next year, Shadows of the Damned (officially abbreviated as Damned or DMD) is developed by Goichi Suda's Grasshopper Manufacture.

A collaboration between Goichi Suda and Shinji Mikami, Mikami has indicated that the "stylish" game will combine the styles of the two producers, namely the signature "punk rock" edge of Suda and the "psychological action thriller" of Mikami.

Utilizing an over-the-shoulder third person point-of-view, the game follows the story of a motorcycle-ridding, gun-slinging "hunter of demons", Garcia Hotspur, who goes to hell to rescue his true love.

As if more credence are still needed, Akira Yamaoka (the acclaimed composer for the Silent Hill series, who has recently left Konami for Grasshopper Manufacture) will be the sound designer for the game.

From the trailer, it sure seems like a marriage made between in gaming heaven between the rip-roaring rock-and-roll style of No More Heroes and the survival horror of Resident Evil. Check it out right after the jump.
