Banksy Does Simpsons

Posted by Grey Wednesday, October 13, 2010

This is undoubtedly the greatest "couch gag" opening sequence for The Simpsons ever.

In an unexpectedly awesome and probably most secretive move, world-renowned graffiti artist virtuoso, Banksy, directed and storyboarded the "couch gag" opening sequence for last Sunday (October 10th)'s The Simpsons episode, "MoneyBART".

While the opening sequence were more-or-less the usual fare notably littered with "Banksy"'s name spray-painted on the walls across Springfield, the "couch gag" near the ending revealed the horrific truth behind the production of the Simpsons'franchise: Animals, both mythical and endangered were absolutely harmed in the making of the show, while an underground (literally) sweat shop provides an absolutely deplorable environment for the workers, slave-driven to create the episodes and its associated merchandise.

Ever the activist Banksy is, in exploring the dark-side of America's favorite family. For those of you who missed the episode on Sunday, check out the gut-busting opening right after the jump.
