DC Goes Iconic In January

Posted by Grey Tuesday, October 19, 2010

"I think our characters are bigger than Marvel's characters."

- DC's Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, at the New York Comic-Con.

This January, as if to further reiterate the above statement, DC enters full iconic mode, starting from their very covers.

DC Comics has announced via The Source on Thursday that their titles releasing in January will be getting "a unique and yet familiar logo treatment that brings the focus on the characters and stars of their respective books", starting right from their covers, which will feature each star of the book with their respective logos.

In addition, special one-shots with spotlights on some of the heroes and villains of the DCU by "an A-list assortment of creators, including James Robinson, Eric Wallace, J.T. Krul and more" will be published in January. Check out the information solicited for four of the planned one-shots, SHAZAM!, Wonder Girl, Steel and Starman/Congorilla, right after the jump, followed by a sampling of some the iconic covers.
