Help Derek Kirk Kim By Buying His Art

Posted by Grey Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Bad times indeed.

We had earlier posted an entry on multi-award-winning artist Steve Rude's current financial predicament and how he is selling his original art to keep his house. And now it came to our knowledge that Eisner and Harvey award-winning (for his debut graphic novel Same Difference and Other Stories) Korean-American cartoonist, Derek Kirk Kim, is currently hit hard financially, and is now selling off some of his original art from "The Eternal Smile: Three Stories", also an Eisner winner that was a collaboration between Kim and Gene Luen Yang.

From Kim's LiveJournal:

I'm in a financial crunch right now, so I would really, really appreciate the support. Besides everything else, I got linked on reddit last month and got hit with a fat bandwidth fee which I can't afford.

The auction page can be found right here, while you can have a look at a higher resolution of the images here. After the jump, check out some the art pieces on sale.
