Paul Trailer

So what comes next after surviving a zombie apocalypse and taking down old (but nonetheless evil) townsfolk in a sleepy country village?

But of course, aliens.

Before you argue that the answer to my earlier question should be "The World's End", I am obviously not talking about the "Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy" created by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, and starring Pegg and Nick Frost in leading roles. With Wright not in the directing helm for this one, I am talking about "Paul", the upcoming ensemble science fiction comedy. Featuring a stellar cast of veteran comedians with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Jane Lynch, Sigourney Weaver and Seth Rogen as the voice of Paul.

So who exactly this Paul?

The plot synopsis from the official site:

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reunite for the comedy adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America’s UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever.

For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-travelling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town—a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Collings (Frost).

Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.

And believe me, this could just be E.T. went wrong. Way wrong in the right way.

Directed by Greg Mottola, the director of 2007's Superbad and 2009's Adventureland, Paul is set to be released on February 2011.
