Results From Scream Awards 2010

Posted by Grey Saturday, October 23, 2010

"Honoring the best in sci-fi, fantasy, comics, and horror." We had earlier posted an entry on the nominees list for the fifth annual Scream Awards from Spike TV. Let's check out the results along with some surprising highlights of he show.

Held at the Greek Theater on last Saturday (October 16th), Spike TV's fifth installment of its annual Scream Awards played host to a gallery of stars from superheroes, mutants, secret agents, vampires, time-travelers, to, yes, even a Ghostbuster.

James Cameron himself was in the house to present the inaugural "Heroine" Award to Sigourney Weaver, who emerged from a giant brain-shaped pod to accept the honors.

Meanwhile, an uproarious ovation awaits Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd as they arrived in the DeLorean to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Back to the Future".

Interestingly, a shot-by-shot recreation of the original Back To The Future teaser trailer featuring Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly were made to promote the show.

For those who had never saw the original teaser trailer, here's it.

The cast of "Lost" were given a special farewell tribute courtesy of self-confessed fan, Jimmy Kimmel.

In quite possibly the highlight of the night, Bill Murray appeared in full Peter Venkman getup to both accept his Best Cameo award and the Best Horror Movie for Zombieland .

The honor of the Comic-Con Icon award were presented to Ray Bradbury by presenter Aaron Eckhart, while Piranha 3-D took the highest in dubious honors by winning the Best Worst Movie.

Appearing with a giant Oan power battery, Ryan Reynolds was on hand to accept the "Most Anticipated Movie" award on behalf of Green Lantern. Incidentally, photos of Green Lantern's power battery from the film have also recently surfaced. Check them out right below.

In addition, a glimpse on a never-before-seen deleted footage from James Cameron's Avatar was featured, depicting a wheel-chair bound Jake Sully kicking ass in a bar.

Here's the completed list of results from the show. Winners are in bold.
