Screening Today At New York Comic-Con: Day Two

Posted by Grey Sunday, October 10, 2010

Continuing our coverage on the exclusive film screenings at New York Comic Con, The Daily Zombies check out what's in store on Day Two of the event.

The screening enter relentless Japanese action mode with today's films. The battle is on... Like what the picture above said. No, not between Ninja Gaiden and Syfy's monster movie of the month.

Alien vs. Ninja
Time: 5:45 pm - 7:45 pm
Location: Room 1E02
Description: The alien is unkillable. It is unbeatable. But it made one mistake: it forgot to make itself ninja-proof. Mature audiences. (FUNimation)

Our Views: Forget Alien vs. Predator. With this one, no matter who win, we enjoy... the ultimate cheesiness.

Assault Girls
Time: 6:45 pm - 8:30 pm
Location: Room 1E03
Description: Written and directed by Mamoru Oshii, Assault Girls is the tale of three women and one man -- with an assortment of weaponry -- who wage war against giant mutant sandwhales in a barren landscape. (Well Go)

Our Views: What the description failed to elaborate is the fact that the battles are held in a virtual reality in this continuation of Oshii's 2001 film, Avalon. While the title bears similarity with the earlier screened "Mutant Girls Squad". This is nothing like it.
