Hulk Smash... TV, With The Help Of Guillermo Del Toro & David Eick

The rumor is real. The Incredible Hulk is smashing his way back to a TV screen near you, courtesy of Guillermo Del Toro, David Eick, and ABC.

It certainly seems like we are currently in the midst of a comic book TV adaptation revival, what with AMC's The Walking Dead, Warner Bros.'s planned Wonder Woman TV series (by the creator of Ally McBeal, David E. Kelley), and this bombshell by Marvel and ABC. Make it a Gamma bombshell while you are at it.

According to Deadline, Guillermo del Toro, the visionary mastermind behind the Hellboy films and wonderfully dark works like Pan's Labyrinth, and Battlestar Galactica executive producer David Eick are teaming up to create a new TV series version of Marvel's beloved character, The Incredible Hulk for ABC, in a joint-production produced by Marvel TV and ABC Studios.

Being del Toro's first TV project, the fan-favorite director is juggling quite a few roles with this one, tackling writing and potential directing roles while overseeing the redesign of the Hulk's appearance, apart from his executive producer role. As opposed to the two Hulk films of which a full GCI rendition was used to conjured the Green Goliath, a mixture of prosthetics, puppetry and CGI will be utilized in the series, with inspirations from several previous comic book incarnations, as well as the original 1978-82 Incredible Hulk TV series, "with a few wild tweaks on the old look".

Details of the premise were briefly mentioned and is reportedly to be following the origin story of Bruce Banner.

In it, physicist Bruce Banner, whose alter ego is the green and raging Hulk, will be in his mid-twenties, less reactive and more energized as the world is still his oyster.

Del Toro and Eick will be sharing the story and created by credi, while Eick will write the script with Del Toro attached o direct the pilot, subject to his availability.

To make way for the Hulk's appearance in the live-action The Avengers film adaptation that has been scheduled to release on May 4th, 2012, the new Hulk series is expected to debut some time during Fall 2012 on ABC.

For those who can't get enough of the Big Green Goliath, there's this bound-to-be incredible Hulk porn flick, The Incredible Hulk: A XXX Porn Parody, produced by Vivid Entertainment, the very same nice folks that brought you the fucking fabulous Batman XXX: A Porn Parody.
