Skyline Preview: Posters, Stills & Trailers

Posted by Grey Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Come this November 12th, don't look up. But you might want to look into the theaters for we, ever the pathetic mankind, have an aliens invasion to deal with. Yet again.

While they are not exactly the Coen Brothers, the Strause Brothers are quite the special effects authority with their ground-breaking work on the iceberg sequence of James Cameron's Titanic (that won the Best Visual Effects Academy Award in 1997) and their visual effects company, Hydraulx's special effect works on blockbusters films like 300, X-Men: The Last Stand, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, and The Day After Tomorrow. Their directing, however, came to be in question with their critically-panned debut film, Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem.

And if you thought their next film will be strictly off the alien topic, think again. Slated to be released this weekend, "Skyline" is a high-concept science fiction thriller film this side of Battle: Los Angeles. Yes, LA does seemed to be a favorite for any would-be alien invaders.

The plot synopsis, courtesy of Bloody Disgusting:

After a late night party, a group of friends are awoken in the dead of the night by an eerie light beaming through the window. Like moths to a flame, the light source is drawing people outside before they suddenly vanish into the air. They soon discover an otherwordly force is swallowing the entire human population off the face of the earth. Now our band of survivors must fight for their lives as the world unravels around them.

While the indie film was produced with a relatively minuscule budget (when a film of such genre is concerned), it would be wise to think of this film more of a "Independence Day" than a "Cloverfield", based on the trailers that have been released thus far.

Universal, the distributor of the films seemed confident enough with what they saw, so much so that rumors of a planned sequel is already in place two months ago. We, on the other hand, shall keep our fingers crossed, till November 12th.

Check out the stills and posters that have been released thus far, right after the jump.

Why the movie end like that?, what happen next?, is there a second part?, I don't like the end of the movie.

Maybe if you do a second part the movie can make sense.
But is really good, the movie is perfect but I think you most do a end for the movie.
