Wolverine 2 Has A Name

And no, it's not X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2.

Speaking to HitFix on his latest film, "Black Swan" over the weekend, Director Darren Aronofsky provided a brief update on the upcoming sequel to the critically panned X-Men Origins: Wolverine, while revealing the official title to the film.

The film will simply be called as, "The Wolverine", and as it turned out, the film can hardly be called a sequel if Aronofsky does get his way with the notorious powers-that-be at Fox. There will not be a number attached to the film's title, and Aronofsky has emphasized that it will not be "a sequel in any conventional sense".

By that, we assumed that Aronofsky's take on the film will be totally unrelated to both Gavin Hood's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and the X-Men films. Given the tremendous outpour of berserker rage as a result of viewing Logan's first solo outing, the severance of ties from the film series might sounds to be an admirably positive development. However, I have my reservation on the oddly-coined title.
