Young Justice Preview

Posted by Grey Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Debuting as a series in January 2011, Young Justice will make its premiere on November 26th on Cartoon Network with the one-hour pilot episode, "Independence Day". Let's take a look at the official synopsis and images from the all-new animation series produced by Warner Bros. Animation.

Created by Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti for Cartoon Network, Young Justice, despite its title, is not an adaptation of Todd Dezago and Todd Nauck's Young Justice series of comics, and is in fact an adaptation of the entire DC Universe with a focus on young superheroes.

Set in the fictional universe of Earth-16 of DC Multiverse world, the series follows the teenage sidekick heroes who are secretly members of Young Justice, a covert operation team organized by Batman as a secret black ops squad of its celebrity-level counterpart, the Justice League.

Here's the plot synopsis from the DC's The Source.

In YOUNG JUSTICE, being a teenager means proving yourself over and over – to peers, parents, teachers, mentors and, ultimately, to yourself. But what if you’re not just a normal teenager? What if you’re a teenage super hero? How much harder will it be to prove yourself in a world of super powers, super villains and super secrets? Are you ready to come of age in such a world? Are you ready for life or death rites of passage? Are you ready to join the ranks of the great heroes and prove you’re worthy of the Justice League? The members of Young Justice—Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis—are about to find out.

In the premiere episode, Robin, Speedy, Aqualad and Kid Flash are finally granted access to the headquarters of the Justice League. But when that
access turns out to be little more than a glorified backstage pass, Speedy walks, and the other three sidekicks go on a mission of their
own…to Project Cadmus, where they make a startling discovery.
