Hanna Preview: Trailer & Plot Synopsis

Posted by Grey Wednesday, December 22, 2010

"Sometimes, children are bad people too." So said Cate Blanchett, in this surprisingly ass-kicking trailer.

From the director of 2005's Pride and Prejudice and 2007's Atonement, the latest film of Joe Wright takes a steep depart from the Victorian set pieces for some ass-kicking espionage action. With Wright in helm, you can expect an espionage action thriller like no others. Reminiscent of the Big Daddy/Hit Girl team-up (amazingly brought to life in the big screen by Nicholas Cage and Chloë Moretz) that we have seen in Kickass, Eric Bana and Saoirse Ronan (from Wright's Atonement) took on the role of an ex-CIA and his well-trained teenage assassin girl.

Get ready for some neck-snapping action in this awesome trailer right after the jump.

The plot synopsis from Coming Soon:

The title character of this adventure thriller, filmed in Europe, Hanna (played by Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan ["Atonement"]) is a teenage girl. Uniquely, she has the strength, the stamina, and the smarts of a soldier; these come from being raised by her father (Eric Bana of "Star Trek"), an ex-CIA man, in the wilds of Finland. Living a life unlike any other teenager, her upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one; sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett). As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence and unexpected questions about her humanity.

With "existence" and "humanity" being in question, does that mean that Hanna might not be human after all? We will keep our fingers happily crossed with this one. Hanna is set to release on April 8th, 2011.
