Meet The Batman And Robin Of Russia!

Posted by Grey Wednesday, December 1, 2010

We have seen the Batman of Japan and Argentina in the pages of Grant Morrison's Batman, Inc. Now meet the Dynamic Duo of Russia!

In a globetrotting saga to take his war on crime to the next level, Batman is currently traveling around the world in a quest to "franchise" the Batman legacy in drafting, training and commanding a team of international heroes across nations. We have seen Mr. Unknown, the appointed Batman of Japan while Morrison has indicated that El Gaucho (the hero from the "Batmen of All Nations" will be representing Argentina.

Now brace yourself for the Dynamic Duo of Russia!

And boy are they dynamic, as their true identities are respectively, Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, and Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev (yes, the president is the Boy Wonder)!

Or so the US ambassadors thought.

From telegraph.co.uk:

Among hundreds of thousands of documents released on Sunday night by Wikileaks, the whistle-blower website, are US embassy cables detailing private impressions of a host of world leaders written by ambassadors and ministers across the globe.

Here is a round-up of what the documents say about some of the world's most influential figures, as reported by the newspapers given advanced access to the material; The New York Times, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Le Monde and El Pais.

We skipped the regular run-of-the-mill stuffs (for example, French President, Nicholas Sarkozy, referred to as an “emperor with no clothes”, or the part about Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, "cannot travel" without what one diplomat described as his “voluptuous blonde” Ukrainian nurse) to bring you right to the dynamic revelation:

Dmitry Medvedev, Russian President
Medvedev is officially the senior partner to Vladimir Putin in the Russian government, but American documents painted the balance of power in Moscow as quite different.
According to one diplomat's cable in late 2008, shortly after Medvedev assumed power, Mr Putin behaves like “Batman” while Medvedev “plays Robin”.
