Prototype 2 Announcement Trailer

Prepared to murder your maker in 2012.

The earlier viral clip entitled "Murder Your Maker" (embedded further down below for your easy reference) has indeed been confirmed as a lead-in to the announcement trailer of Prototype 2, the sequel to 2009's largely underachieved Prototype. As revealed in both the viral website www.murderyourmaker.com and the première of the trailer on the 2010 Spike Video Game Awards, the sequel will be released in 2012.

A nice twist to the sequel would be the fact that Alex Mercer, the protagonist of the original Prototype, will be the antagonist this time round. The new protagonist will be Sergeant James Hellen, a U.S. solider who was involved in a war overseas when the events of the previous installment took place. Coming back to what is now known as "New York Zero" (so now you know what the "NYZ" in the viral clip meant), he finds his entire family dead and Hellen himself was kidnapped by Mercer, who also infects him with his powers. With a personal vendetta on his mind, Hellen sets out to take down Mercer with his new-found power.

Hit the jump for the announcement trailer.
