Qatar's Futuristic 2022 FIFA World Cup Stadiums

Boldly go where no World Cup go before in the year 2022, as we enter the Space Age of stadium designs.

All inconsequential rantings aside (now that the dust has settled), Qatar's winning bid for 22nd FIFA World Cup in the year 2022 (that's an awful lot of 2s here) does seemed to have something positive for us to look forward to.

Despite being graded as having "high operational risk", Qatar won the bid due to its location (the first-ever World Cup tournament held in the Middle East), its promise on utilization of solar energy-powered air-conditioning systems (a big factor for playing football in a Middle Eastern summer), and quite likely its enormous purse. But one thing nobody can deny is its incredible, other-worldly structured stadiums designed by Albert Speer & Partner, GmbH. Yes, all ten of them.

Courtesy of iO9, let's check out these cool, futuristic stadiums.

But like what Gavan Reilly, of The Score mentioned, if the Qatar national team are going to play like this, they gonna have a bigger problem at hand.
