Dead Island Announcement Trailer: Zombies Of The Week

Posted by Grey Friday, February 18, 2011

Prepare yourself for quite possibly the most depressing game trailer ever.

Developed by Techland (Polish game developer known for their work on Call of Juarez) for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Dead Island, the Zombie Survival Horror game published by Deep Silver for a scheduled release some time in 2011, has been making the rounds in internet realm this week. And that is with much thanks to the tragically poignant trailer to the madness.

Known to be a hybrid between Action RPG and First-Person Shooters, Dead Island is in actuality, as open-ended game, with a strict focus on the challenge of survival on an island down with Zombie Apocalypse. Featuring a sandbox gameplay mechanism set on a tropical island, the game was obviously inspired by the classic George A. Romero's zombie flicks.

In this trailer that was poignantly and artistically broke in halves and segregated into two distinctly cool sequences that settled down in time, we feel the absolute hopelessness in an actual full-blown Zombie Apocalypse.

And respectfully so, at that.

Here's the official trailer.

And the recut edition when you see how the scenes play out in context, chronological order.
