Memories Of The Gore Administration

Posted by Grey Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Remember the 2000 U.S. presidential election? Ever wonder if Al Gore managed to run the Oval Office, would the course of the world be any different following September 11th?

Well, in the opinion of award-winning Israeli illustrator and cartoonist, Tomer Hanuka, "Al Qaeda doesn’t care who’s president".

From Hanuka's blog, here's a sneak peek at his upcoming special project for a New York Magazine story chronicling the fictional decade where Al Gore, not George W. Bush, became president in 2000.

"Lead art for a New York Magazine story chronicling a fictional decade where the 2000 election had gone the other way, and Al Gore became president. America: This is your parallel life. In the first chapter, written by Kurt Andersen, Gore moves in, and United Flight 93 strikes the White House. Al Qaeda doesn’t care who’s president."

Check out the cool illustration in different formats right after the jump.
