Know what the "A" on Captain America's mask stands for? According to this recently unveiled full-length trailer of the big screen adaptation of Marvel's iconic star-spangled avenger, it might just be Awesome!

Figuratively speaking, of course. For those who have been feverishly awaiting the full-length trailer of Marvel Studio's Captain America: The First Avenger, rejoice!

We here at The Daily Zombies, along with the hordes and hordes of Marvel Zombies, have been awaiting for an actual trailer for the big screen adaptation of the star-spangled avenger for a ridiculous amount of time, especially given the fact that the film is scheduled for release on July 22nd, and all we have got is just the thirty-three-second Super Bowl TV spot.

Without further ado, check out the full-length trailer of Captain America: The First Avenger right after the jump.

Now that we are all a merry lot after watching the trailer, it is noteworthy to highlight the fact that the film seems to be more heavy on the character build-up, a positive method demonstrated by the first Iron Man film. We get to see how frail Steve Roger get by, and how he take on the transformation, both physically and mentally. While we are still of the opinion that Nazi should be featured as the main antagonistic forces instead of Hydra, for more historical resonance, the choice might be due to unnecessary concerns over the perceived trivialization of the heavy issue. Nevertheless, the trailer certainly looks good and the films seems to be a welcome depart from the high tech slugfest and the godly showdown from the Iron Man films and the upcoming Thor.

As in all big screen adaptations of comic materials, we will get to see some comic adaptations of the big screen adaptations of the original comics. (We knew how confusing this is. Not our fault though.) A new official set still of the film has been unveiled at Marvel's June solicitation of their comic prequel to the film.

Here's the official solicitation description for issue #3 of Captain America: First Vengeance, courtesy of Comic Book Resources:

The OFFICIAL comics prequel to the Marvel Studios summer blockbuster continues! As Captain America continues to get closer to uncovering the secret of the Hydra base, his past and the past of his friends continues to unfold. How did Doctor Erskine come to be fighting for the Allies? What’s the story behind the Howling Commandoes? And how is the Stark family involved in the creation of the First Avenger? Find out all this and more, written by Fred Van Lente (Amazing Spider-Man, Incredible Hercules) and art by LUKE ROSS (Captain America and the Dark Tower)!

In closing, here's the official wallpaper of Captain America: The First Avenger that Marvel put up at the official site.

A part of an ambitious crossover film project in Marvel, Captain America: The First Avenger is currently scheduled for release on July 22nd, 2011, in 3D.
