Feel The Faux Wrath Of Almighty Thor

"The Legend Is Born." Just not the real one.

That said, it remains perfectly arguable that Thor, the legendary Norse God of Thunder, is pretty much out there in the public domain, and no one really has the right to claim that their version is the real deal. A perfect argument that The Asylum Studio is familiar with, given their longstanding history of churning out mockbuster in a heartbeat.

Yes, the folks that brought you Transmorphers, Paranormal Entity, and Snakes on a Train are back! For those unfamiliar with The Asylum, the film studio is infamous for producing low-budget, direct-to-video titles that capitalize on productions by major studios.

In keeping with their tradition, Almighty Thor promise to be one hell of a ride into the ludicrously nonsensical world of B movies hell. Here's the official synopsis of the film, straight from its official page:

When the demon god Loki destroys the fortress of Valhalla and steals the Hammer of Invincibility, only the young hero Thor can protect Earth from armageddon.

Former WWE, WCW and TNA wrestler Kevin Nash leads the cast, playing the role of .... nah, Odin, the father of Thor. As much as it puzzles you why Nash was passed on for the eponymous role, we are equally puzzled that they decided to cast a boyish Owen Wilson-lookalike as the God of Thunder. Nevertheless, check out the batshit crazy and funnily cheesy trailer of the Almighty "Faux" Thor right after the jump.

Why yes, who other than The Asylum can bring you an Uzi-wielding Thor running down the street (here at the 0:42 mark)

Almighty Thor is directed by Christopher Olen Ray (Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus) and is set to air on Syfy on May 7th, and will then hit the stores on May 10th.
