Mortal Kombat: Legacy Continues With An Outworld Tale

The weekly-released web series adaptation of Mortal Kombat continues into its fourth installment with a trip to the dark fantasy realm of Outworld.

We have not covered the weekly releases of Mortal Kombat: Legacy, the web series adaptation of popular fighting game series, Mortal Kombat, since the release of its pilot episode earlier last month.

Following the two-part tale on Jax, Sonya Blade and Kano in episode one and two, and the comical one-shot on Johnny Cage in episode three, the series took a daring turn and officially enter the dark fantasy realm of Outworld in its fourth episode. The first of a two-part story arc, the episode focuses on Kitana (Sam Tjhia) and Mileena (Jolene Tran). Combining live-action sequences and motion comic-styled animations, check out the episode right after the jump.

Episode 4: "Kitana & Mileena (Part 1)"
Beautiful, athletic, and trained as highly skilled assassins, Kitana and Mileena have grown up thinking that they are sisters. Shao Kahn, Emperor of the Outworld, has tricked Shang Tsung into becoming his servant for Mortal Kombat by making him clone Mileena as a Tarkatan clone of Kitana, out of Shao Kahn's fear that Kitana wouldn't love him enough if she ever found out the truth about her Mother and Father.

For those who missed out on the episode two and three, they are embedded here for your convenience.

"Johnny Cage"
After unsuccessfully trying to sell his reality television pilot pitch to a studio exec, Johnny Cage, an American action-hero movie star who has fallen on hard times, is recruited by Shang Tsung, a powerful sorcerer who has the power to suck souls from people, to fight in the upcoming Mortal Kombat tournament.
