DreamWorks has released a new trailer for Shawn Levy and Hugh Jackman's upcoming sci-fi film, Real Steel, as we round up a collection of poster and viral promotional material for the film.

We have earlier had our first look at Shawn Levy and Hugh Jackman's upcoming sci-fi film, Real Steel. While our earlier cynicism over Levy's latest effort remained, the latest trailer looks to be fun with some thrilling action scenes. It's the trite storyline that we have a problem with. As mentioned in our earlier preview, the movie is based on an episode of the original Twilight Zone. However, the storyline has been massively changed with a touch of family fun with the father/son relationship that the protagonist Hugh Jackman is playing will be facing. Let's remained hopeful for this one.

Now check out the spanking new trailer for some metal-on-metal action .

(Head over to Yahoo! to see the trailer in HD.)

Here's the official synopsis of the film:

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, "Real Steel" stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Interestingly, the viral marketing scheme of the film has been pretty well-done. For details on them, check out Collider's articles on the viral poster, and the faux website of WRB.com, the official website for World Robot Boxing. Here are some of the images and screen captures of the site, depicting some of the rules and regulations of the game.

And here's the first poster of the film, followed by some new set pictures from the film.

Yes, Lost's Evangeline Lilly will be in the film, hopefully not as the token female lead. Real Steel is currently scheduled for a release in the theaters on October 7th.
