Death comes to Darksiders II

In the upcoming sequel to last year's Darksiders, War takes a vacation as Death takes the center stage.

Developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ, Darksiders was released to a relatively warm reception during its release, scoring an early success for THQ last year. Featuring War of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in an epic (as always) struggle against forces of minions from both Heaven and Hell in the aftermath of the biblical Apocalypse, the game took players on a wild third-person perspective gameplay comprised of combat, puzzle, and exploration. Players who beat the game would have recalled the awe-inspiring cliff-hanger ending heralding the coming of the remaining three Horsemen to aid War in an all-new battle. With that, I guessed it would come to nobody's surprise that the sequel to Darksiders II will be featuring Death, War's brother. Well, he is after all the one with the next coolest name.

Fans of the series anxious to see the character can turn to the July issue of Game Informer magazine, of which a 10-page cover story on the sequel will be featured, along with this cool cover featuring the new protagonist, Death himself.

Meanwhile, being E3 week and all, an announcement trailer showcasing the new character has also been released.

Rest assured that we can definitely expect more details from the sequel during the E3 week.
