Halo 4 Announced: E3 2011

Master Chief returns in the long-anticipated sequel to 2007's Halo 3.

Microsoft's very own mascot is finally back in the ass-kicking business come 2012.

Announced during Microsoft's 2011 E3 press conference yesterday, Halo 4 marks the first chapter of the franchise to be featuring iconic series protagonist Master Chief since its 2007 direct predecessor, Halo 3. The seventh release in the best-selling Halo game series, Halo 4 promise to be a part of a new trilogy and is currently scheduled for a holiday 2012 release.

A teaser trailer was released along with the announcement featuring Master Chief himself awaking from cyronic sleep to the voice of Cortana.

Set in the aftermath of Halo 3, Master Chief returns to confront his own destiny and face an ancient evil that threatens the fate of the entire universe. Halo 4 marks the start of a new trilogy that begins with its release in 2012.
