Iron Man goes to work...in China

Posted by Grey Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Has the somewhat mundane sequel Iron Man 2 somehow herald a decline for good ol'Shellhead? Apparently not.

Inspired by Marvel's Iron Man movies, Wang Xiao Kang spent about 3000 yuan ($435) and three months of his spare time (notably the same amount of time Tony Stark spent in an Afghanistan cave) to built a quality replica of the original Mark I Iron Man suit. Complete with its very own customized arc reactor, LED lights and a built-in cooling fan, the replica suit weighs at a whooping 50kg.

So what did he did with the suit upon its completion? Wear it to work, of course.

Coming to his Shanghai campus of the ZTE Corporation (by foot), Wang battled past the security and successfully stunned all his colleagues without activating his repulsor beam.

Accordingly, Wang is currently working on a Mark III replica. I bet ZTE gonna be behind the project given the level of free publicity he generated for the company.
