WWE '12 Announced: E3 2011

"Bigger, badder, better." Will the next step in THQ and WWE's long-running WWE SmackDown vs. Raw series lived up to its mettle?

One of the longest-running and best-selling gaming series released on an annual basis, every installment of THQ and WWE's WWE SmackDown vs. Raw, has been one of our must-have games since its inception in 2000 with PlayStation's WWF SmackDown!.

Nevertheless, despite its evergreen status and popularity, the series has long been criticized for its relative lack of modifications to its features in each installment.

Ahead of the upcoming E3, THQ has announced a massive overhaul of the franchise in what would be its fourteen installment. Renamed as simply WWE '12, the upcoming game aimed to put all its previous critics to rest and deliver a truly improvement product.

Featuring Randy Orton, here is the announcement trailer of the game.

As earlier mentioned, the new title will be relentless in its effort to do away with all earlier issues, namely the choppy animations, the unrealistic way wrestlers react to the finishers, and the warp-action when certain moves are executed, contributing to the fluidity of the in-game actions. Finisher moves can now be interrupted, while in the Royal Rumble Match, players can also interrupt other participants from eliminating others by hitting them.

Predator Mode will also be introduced, opening up a new concept for the new hit detection system. "Wake-up Taunts" is also introduced, allowing a certain taunt to enable your downed opponent up to his feet to receive your finishing move (think Randy Orton's constant pounding in the Viper mode before reaching in for the RKO). For fans of Super Cena's superhuman antics, there's "Dynamic Comebacks", consisting of "tried and true combos you see folks like Cena throw out that take them from the edge of defeat to clearing the ring." The well-received WWE Universe mode will of course return, but this time promises more unpredictability in generating its storylines.

In addition, the official website of the game series has presented the below new game features:

EXPERIENCE THE NEW WWE! - WWE Action is redefined with new Predator Technology! This new system delivers a fresh and strategic gameplay experience that looks, feels and plays better than ever before. the gameplay you have demanded is finally here with the most fluid WWE action and realistic animations to date in a WWE videogame, improved A.I. and an all-new Breaking Point submission system!

DYNAMIC TV PRESENTATION - Witness the most electrifying presenation in all of sports entertainment. A dynamic new broadcast camera system and badder visual presentation replicate everything you see on WWE's television broadcasts. New rendering and lighting technologies will provide the most realistic WWE Superstars, WWE Divas and WWE Legends and best-looking in-ring action to date.

CREATE AND SHARE YOUR WWE - WWE '12's best-in-class creation suite gives you the ability to create Superstars, entrances, finishing moves, storylines, Highlight Reels and all-new capabilities never before seen in a WWE videogame! Go online and upload your creations to share them with the WWE Universe and download creations from others to add to your own experience.

WWE UNIVERSE 2.0 - Take control of your WWE career in a bigger, badder and better WWE universe. Your actions determine your destiny and shape your experience, as storylines, matches, alliances and rivalries are built based on your decisions.

ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA - The Road to WrestleMania is fraught with action, drama, challenges, storyline twists and truns, and surprises. Which road will you pick, and what story will you tell, on your way to the biggest spectacle in sports entertainment?

WWE '12 is currently scheduled to be released in North America on Nov. 22nd, 2011, and in the U.K. on Nov. 25th, 2011. During the E3 event, THQ will be presenting the game officially with new gameplay videos streamed everyday.

Till now, only four WWE Superstars (Randy Orton, The Miz, John Cena and new addition to the series, Alberto Del Río) has been announced. In the meantime, check out some of the screenshots of the title, featuring all four of the aforementioned WWE Superstars in action.
