Saturday Morning Apocalypse

Saturday Morning Cartoons, meet your doom.

Following their debut studio album in 2007, Metal Kombat for the Mortal Man, a cover album of music from various video games, video game metal/power metal band Powerglove has released their second studio album, Saturday Morning Apocalypse in September last year.

In a depart from the band's usual brand of video game metal, Saturday Morning Apocalypse instead focus on the TV, cartoon, and movie themes that the band grew up with. Everything from X-Men, Batman: The Animated Series, Transformers, to Pokémon, are covered in this insanely awesome metal-meet-cartoon album. Accordingly, the band initially wanted to cover "Under the Sea" from Disney's The Little Mermaid but was denied by Disney.

Now check out the album's recently released first music video for the cover of Batman: The Animated Series theme by Danny Elfman. In a cool mix, the video were put to a retro side-scrolling game treatment. Check it out right after the jump.

And here's a few samples of tracks from the album.

And the Pokemon Gotta Catch 'Em All track live In Montreal!

Saturday Morning Apocalypse is available at iTunes Store.
