Portraits of an Elderly Superhero by Andreas Englund

Posted by Grey Saturday, September 3, 2011

Have a look at what the golden years of a superhero would be like in Andreas Englund's lavish collection of photo-realistic portraits.

Superheroes are generally associated with fantasy. But in Swedish artist Andreas Englund's photo-realistic of the daily routine of an elderly superhero, the line between reality and fantasy is blurred. Imagining the daily activities of a superhero in his golden years, Englund masterfully depicts the expressions and movements of an elderly superhero in a series of oil on canvas portraits, at once projecting a sense of humor with a tinge of melancholy.
