With the season six of Showtime's Dexter reaching its halfway mark, check out these cool fan-made posters and opening sequence of the crime drama to tide over your regular craving for the critically acclaimed series.

Based on the Dexter novel by Jeff Lindsay, Showtime has certainly struck gold with Dexter, the critically acclaimed TV series depicting the exploits of one Dexter Morgan, a serial killer with a full-time job as a bloodstain pattern analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department.

With Michael C. Hall, the actor who portrayed the protagonist of the series to great acclaim, currently in negotiation of his contract with Showtime in an effort to raise his salary for the seventh season, the future of the series remained unclear as the current season hits the halfway mark.

A loyal fan of the series, graphic designer Ty Mattson conjured an awesome animated alternate opening sequence for the show, complete with the vibe and rhythms of the swinging sixties that reminds one of the legendary opening sequence conjurer Saul Bass.

In addition, Mattson has created some pretty nifty posters for the series. These posters are available as prints at his website. Hit the jump to check out the se cool posters.
