Prometheus: First Trailer

The ever-so-mysterious Ridley Scott’s upcoming probable prequel to the Alien film franchise is finally unveiled to us with the release of the first trailer by 20th Century Fox.

We have been circling around Prometheus, Ridley Scott's much-touted return to the sci-fi horror genre, for some time. Today, with the release of the first trailer of the film, we get another hint of the actual relation to the director's 1979 seminal classic film, Alien.

Here's the updated official synopsis of the film:

Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.

Prometheus is currently scheduled to be release in the USA on June 8th, 2012.
