Behold! We bring you the first trailer of the live-action adaptation of るろうに剣心 Rurouni Kenshin.

We have earlier had our first glimpse at the live-action adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story (るろうに剣心 -明治剣客浪漫譚- Rurōni Kenshin Meiji Kenkaku Rōmantan) with the recently-released set images from the film and have to admit that we are impressed with what we have seen thus far.

While we expect the trailer from the film to be released pretty soon, we just did not expect it to be this soon. With no further ado, hit the jump to check out the awesome trailer to Rurouni Kenshin, incidentally our most anticipated manga-to-big screen film ever.



With that, we can very gather a good guess on how the plot of the film would be like. With fan-favorite anti-hero Shinomori Aoshi (四乃森 蒼紫) nowhere to be seen despite the presence of Takeda Kanryū (武田 観柳), the unscrupulous industrialist, Udō Jin-e (鵜堂 刃衛, Udō Jin'e) logically took the centrestage of the main antagonist. While the choice of Yōsuke Eguchi (江口 洋介) as fan-favorite anti-hero Saitō Hajime (斎藤 一) seemed inspired on paper, his look certainly does not impressed me. That said, the overall look and feel of the film felt just nice.

Rurouni Kenshin is currently slated to release in Japan on August 25th, 2012. However, the US release date has not been announced as yet.
