Source Code Preview: Posters & Trailer
Had enough mind-trip with the unpleasantly mediocre and uneventful Sucker Punch? Well, how about one more this weekend? From Duncan Jones, the director behind the critically acclaimed hard Sci-Fi film, Moon, Source Code promises one mind-trip not be overlooked.
We here at The Daily Zombies are, quite simply put, suckers for high concept films. But as high concept as these niche films go, no, I find the entire "Sucker Punch" experience to be unnecessarily repugnant. Nevertheless, that does not make us any less receptive of films bold enough to roll out innovative ideas. And with Duncan Jones, the mind behind the surprisingly brilliant "Moon", Source Code is one mind-trip we would not want to miss.
Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, the Sci-Fi film will not be following path of hard Sci-Fi like Moon, and would be employing a particularly amazing Sci-Fi device that allowed the protagonist to experience what reads like a hard Sci-Fi version of Groundhog Day.
Here's the official synopsis, courtesy of the film's Facebook page:
When decorated airman Captain Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he's part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he's ever known, he learns he's part of a government experiment called the "Source Code", a program that enables him to cross over into another man's identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.
So how exactly does this insanely dreamy technology work? You are pretty much out of your mind if you expect a straight-up answer on that one but this short clip from the film tries to help.
Also starring Vera Farmiga as Carol Goodwin (as you probably would have noticed from the above clip), the military officer in charge of the operation, and Michelle Monaghan as an "unlikely" love interest, here is the official trailer of the film.
Source Code is slated to be release this April Fool's Day. So now we know Super gonna have a major opponent.
Here are the posters from the film that have since been released.
