After smashing the box office records, the Incredible Hulk and the rest of the cinematic Avengers will be assembled in your home theatres come this September.

With the marvellous performance of The Avengers at the box office, the folks at Marvel Studios certainly are not resting on their laurels in delivering the next big release in their amazing arsenal... And no, we are not talking about the next film from Marvel Studios, but the home media release of The Avengers.

According to Blu-ray.com, The Avengers will hit Blu-ray and DVD on September 25th. Like all other major home media release, there will be tons of special features in the combo packs. The 4-disc Blu-ray/DVD pack will reportedly be including an audio commentary by director Joss Whedon as well as truck loads of deleted scenes including the alternate version of both the opening and ending of the film.

- Assembling the Ultimate Team

There have been talks of Whedon having shot a scene where Captain America reunited with an elderly Peggy Carter in the present. So it is a fair guess that we might get to witness this in "Steve Rogers - Man Out of Time" deleted scene. In addition, we might be getting the chance for yet another Agent Coulson solo adventure in Marvel One-Shot: Item 47.

It has also been speculated greatly that a 10-disc Blu-ray box set that will include all of the films leading up to the film (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger) is in the plans for the release as well. Should that be the case, it will be a great news for all fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel Zombies alike.

On a separate note, Marvel has released an official timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe just so that all those pointless debates on whether Tony Stark met General Ross before Iron Man 2 can be settled once and for all.
