Batman Coming to Smallville in Season 11

Posted by Grey Thursday, June 28, 2012

The Dark Knight finally make his much, much-anticpated appearance in Smallville.

The Dark Knight makes his first appearance in Smallville. For those puzzled over this statement, we are not talking about the Smallville in the regular comic books published by DC Comics. We are talking about Smallville, the TV series that have ended last year with its tenth season and now surviving in the pages of the comic book known as Smallville Season 11.

For a team-up that have fans waited for more than ten seasons, the anticipation is perfectly understandable given that we are talking about the team of the World's Finest, Superman and Batman. An anticipation made worse with the tease of the character of Adam Knight back in the third season. Being a brooding, mysterious orphan with extraordinary martial art skills and other amazing ability, it was once perceived by fans of the show that we were looking at a precursor of The Dark Knight. Of course, that is before we learnt of the reason behind why Batman, in any shape and form, can never appear in the TV series.

In an wholly understated announcement on his blog, Smallville Season 11 writer Bryan Q. Miller, who is incidentally a former staff writer and executive story editor for The CW series, unveiled the Dark Knight:

I feel like I've been sitting on a Christmas present for everyone since January. Here you go. Unwrap away... in 2 months!

Fans have been waiting for this for a VERY long time. As both a fan and a writer, I am more than pleased to announce the arrival of a MAJOR DC universe player in the second episode of Smallville Season 11...
