In the latest trailer of IO Interactive and Square Enix's Hitman: Absolution, it's Agent 47 versus Killer Nuns.

We have last covered Hitman: Absolution during last year's E3. With E3 kicking off next week, Eidos Interactive and Square Enix have released a new trailer for the upcoming fifth installment of the Hitman series.

Entitled "Attack of the Saints", the trailer is designed for controversy given its guns-a-blazing and gratuitous violent contents complete with sexy, guns-wielding nuns and painfully brutal action sequences with Agent 47 unrelentingly focused in some serious wicked nuns-bashing action.

The trailer has already been on the receiving end of criticism from IGN's Keza MacDonald, who opined that the trailer "pairs gratuitous violence with sexualised imagery to create the most troubling piece of marketing material I think I’ve ever seen." And it is only fair that we can expect more comments to come.

All things said and done, we opine the violence of a level akin to Quentin Tarantino's film and hey, it's computed-generated after all. We aren't too sure about the final fate of this trailer but we can't rule out the propensity for it to be totally removed. Therefore, if you are a true-blue action fan, do yourself a favor and check out the gorgeous trailer right after the jump.

And here are some promotional materials we found for the campaign.

The official synopsis of the game:

HITMAN ABSOLUTION follows cold-blooded assassin Agent 47™ as he takes on his most dangerous contract to date. Betrayed by those he once trusted, and hunted by the police, he suddenly finds himself at the center of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a journey through a corrupt and twisted world.

Showcasing IO Interactive's new proprietary Glacier 2™ technology, the game has been built from the ground up. Boasting a cinematic story, distinctive art direction and highly original game design, HITMAN ABSOLUTION combines much-loved classic gameplay with features never seen before in the Hitman franchise.

The official website can be found at

Hitman: Absolution is currently set for a November 20, 2012 release.
