Evil goes the way of Globalization this September with Resident Evil: Retribution, the fifth installment of the zombie film franchise based on Capcom's critically acclaimed Survival Horror video game series. We take a closer look at the film with the freshly-released full trailer of the film.

We have earlier had our first look at Resident Evil: Retribution, the fifth installment in the very much undead zombie action film franchise, with the release of the first teaser trailer from Sony Pictures back in January. Today, we witnessed more sinister Globalization scheme by the ultimate corporate firm in evil bio-hazard domination, Umbrella Corporation, with the release of the full trailer by Sony Pictures.

Based on the wildly popular survival horror game series of the same name from Capcom, the film series, despite abysmal critical reviews, has been a certified box-office juggernaut and this is immediately apparent with how the installments are churned out at such frequency. With an all-star line-up from the back-from-the-dead crew of Sienna Guillory's Jill Valentine, Oded Fehr's Carlos Olivera, and Michelle Rodriguez's Rain Ocampo, who will be teaming with the crew of new characters from the game series like Li Bingbing's Ada Wong, Kevin Durand's Barry Burton, and last and certainly not the least, the most-requested character, Leon S. Kennedy, as portrayed by relatively unknown actor, Johann Urb, it is only fair for us to expect that the "Retribution" is more likely than not far from being complete and we will see more of director Paul W. S. Anderson and his wife, Milla Jovovich's protagonist character, Alice.

And here are the rounds of the first posters from the film.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

The wildly successful film franchise adaptation that has grossed nearly $700 million worldwide to the popular video game series, “Resident Evil,” returns in its highly anticipated fifth installment, “Re5ident Evil: Retribution” in state-of-the art 3D.

The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.
Resident Evil: Retribution is currently scheduled to be released in 3D and IMAX 3D, as well as 2D, on September 14, 2012.
