Six years after the original live-action film adaptation of Konami's critically-acclaimed survival horror video game franchise, we have our first look at Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, the sequel set to release on October 26, 2012.

When considering the particular genre of survival horror video games, the is without any shadow of a doubt that one title will come to mind: Resident Evil (or Biohazard, as they called them in Japan). With Resident Evil: Retribution, the fifth installment of the live-action film adaptation franchise, set to be released in September, another notable film from the same genre has broken free of the development limbo that has unfortunately affecting the sequel.

Written and directed by Michael J. Bassett, Silent Hill: Revelation will be based on the well-received Silent Hill 3 and will be featuring Heather Mason as the new protagonist facing off against crazed cult, grotesque nurses, creepy priestess, and a certain pyramid-headed dude wielding a giant-ass sword.

Reuniting Game Of Thrones stars Sean Bean and Kit Harington, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D stars Australian actress Adelaide Clemens as Heather Mason, with Carrie-Anne Moss and Malcolm McDowell rounding up the cast. Radha Mitchell's protagonist in the first film, Rose Da Silva, set to be making an appearance.
