Man of Steel Teaser Trailer, Old School Style

Posted by Grey Wednesday, August 8, 2012

We revisit the Man of Steel teaser trailer with a decidedly different yet utterly familiar vibe courtesy of the cool alternate audio cut of the trailer.

The pair of Man of Steel teaser trailers were pretty subtly epic in their own rights but we do some minor gripes over them. Namely, the use of the relatively notable score from The Lord of the Rings, and to nitpick even further, how a little boy can be inspired to attached a cape to his back in a world without a Superman in the first place.

Well, thanks to ITHoTMKProductions, one of these two problems is resolved effortlessly with the inclusion of the soundbytes of Marlon Brando’s Jor-El's speech to his son, complete with the background music of John Williams’ iconic score. And there you have it, an almost perfect moment.

Here's the official synopsis of the film:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question - Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as "Superman," not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.
