Assassin’s Creed III: The Tyranny of King George

Ahead of the release of the much-anticipated Assassin’s Creed III, Ubisoft has announced "Assassin’s Creed III: The Tyranny of King George", a new three-part downloadable content package that allowed players to enter a most strange alternate reality... One where George Washington is king of America.

We have covered Assassin’s Creed III, the much-anticipated fifth major instalment and the third numbered title in the wildly popular Assassin's Creed series from Ubisoft, on numerous occasions and there is no doubt that hopes are indeed high on this one. Apart from the refreshing American Revolution setting, the intriguing new half-English, half-Native American protagonist, Connor Kenway, and the massive gameplay from land to sea, spokespersons from Ubisoft has promised the proverbial "next-gen" experience with the title, which is incidentally built on a new engine known as Anvil Next.

And now, Ubisoft has given us more reasons to look forward to the title: Assassin’s Creed III: The Tyranny of King George, a non-canonical adventure set in an alternate history with an evil George Washington succumbing to the ultimate power and becomes a king, eventually leading the new protagonist in an adventure to take him down in a three-part add-on DLC that Ubisoft called "Season Pass."

Here's the official press release from Ubisoft:

As the revolution comes to a close, a new and most unexpected enemy emerges. Driven by the desire to secure the fate of the colonies, the greatest hero of the revolution, George Washington, succumbs to the temptation of infinite power. The new King is born and his reign leaves no one untouched. To return freedom to the land our new hero must dethrone a tyrant he once called friend.

As mentioned earlier, the adventure will come in three episodic content packs which will be available when players purchases the Assassin's Credd III Season Pass, available on Xbox 360 for 2400 Microsoft Points, and on PlayStation 3 as well as PC for $29.99.
