While Frankenweenie, Tim Burton's second take at his legendary live-action short film that got the him fired by Disney back in 1984, failed to live up to its projected expectation, there is no doubt that it is one of the most stylistically compelling animation to be released this year, right beside ParaNorman, another stop-motion wonder from the talented folks from LAIKA, Inc. Nevertheless, it goes without saying that Burton has already transformed the art of stop-motion animating way back in 1993 with his seminal epic animated film, The Nightmare Before Christmas.
