Call of Duty: Black Ops II: Guy Ritchie’s Live-Action Trailer

Posted by Grey Saturday, November 3, 2012

With Call of Duty: Black Ops II set to be released later this month, a new live-action trailer directed by notable British film-maker Guy Ritchie (and featuring an unexpected cameo by a famous regular collaborator of Ritchie) has been released.

With the holiday season round the corner, we are witnessing the release of a number of greatly anticipated video game titles from several notable franchises. With Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries' Halo 4 hoarding the spotlight with its highly anticipated release, Activision has released a new trailer to promote the release of the latest instalment of their biggest franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops II ahead of its release on November 18.

Continuing the Hollywood-video games cross-promotion trend (with David Fincher producing the launch trailer of Halo 4), Guy Ritchie, the British film-maker who brought us Lock, Stock and Two Barrels and the Sherlock Holmes films, is the director of this live-action trailer. To play up the trailer's theme that "there's a gamer in all of us", we see Robert Downey Jr. himself in an unexpected appearance in the trailer. Hit the jump to check out the clip.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is currently scheduled to be released on November 18, 2013.
