It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's the first full length theatrical trailer of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. Brace yourself for our first good look at Henry Cavill's Superman, Amy Adams' Lois Lane, and Michael Shannon's Zod.

Earlier last week we get to have another peek at Henry Cavill's Superman with the release of a new poster for Man of Steel, Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot of Superman, thanks to fans who helped in the little social experiment of Warner Bros. Pictures to promote the release of the Blu-ray/DVD of The Dark Knight Rises. Today, Warner Bros Pictures has released the first full theatrical trailer for the film (accompanying the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in the theatres), giving us our first closer look at the film as well as something that everyone has been clamouring to check out: Michael Shannon's Zod! Ok, you don't have to kneel just yet but do hit the jump to check out the awesome trailer of easily one of the most anticipated films of 2013 and decide if this is something down your lane.

Without further ado, the first full theatrical trailer of Man of Steel.

There is no doubt that the film looks to be visually enticing, something that has by now became a key feature of Zack Snyder just so that we can be assured that if all else fails, the first overhaul reboot of the cinematic adventures of the most iconic superhero that started them all will at least look good. Nevertheless, the overall vibe of the trailer seems to impose a sense of overwrought grittiness meant to resonate producer Christopher Nolan and Snyder's intention for the film to set in reality.

As always, iO9 has come out with their shot-by-shot analysis and we implore all fans of Superman to head over to have a professional good look at the trailer. We have gathered some of the most interesting images from these screen captures right below. But before you scroll down to browse, kneel before the new-and-improved Zod!

In the meantime, Henry Cavill's Superman has shown up prominently on the cover of Studio Ciné Live with a pair of awkward-looking gauntlets that were somehow overlooked in the dimly-lit earlier images.

Here's the official synopsis of the film:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question - Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as "Superman," not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Christopher Meloni, and Russell Crowe, Man of Steel is currently scheduled to be released in 2D, 3D and IMAX on June 14, 2013.
