WATCH The Rock's “Got Milk?” Super Bowl Commercial

Posted by Grey

After becoming the WWE Champion once again, can you smell what The Rock, Dwayne Johnson, is cooking? Yes, an awesome Milk Mustache TV commercial set to premièred at the much-coveted Super Bowl broadcast.

Finally, The Rock, Dwayne Johnson himself has once again become the WWE Champion after ten long years when he ended the remarkable 434 WWE Championship reign of CM Punk at last Sunday's Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View (PPV). Interestingly, the order of business (ahead of the WWE Championship rematch with Punk at next month's Elimination Chamber PPV) would be a cool TV spot for Milk Mustache TV commercial set to premièred at this weekend's much-coveted Super Bowl broadcast.

Both cementing and playing on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson' status of being this generation's action hero icon, the "Got Milk?" commercial that reunited Johnson with Peter Berg, the director of Johnson's 2004 action/comedy cycle, The Rundown, thrusted the Great One into a series of gradually severe action movie tropes as he track down the milk truck for the kids (perfectly down Johnson's lane given his long-standing history with family comedies).

Hit the jump to check out the cool TV spot ahead of its première at the Super Bowl broadcast.

Danny Boyle‘s Trance: First Look

Posted by Grey

Award-winning British film-maker Danny Boyle is back with a crime thriller and The Daily Zombies takes a First Look at the film set to be released in the US in April.

An art heist went uncontrollably wrong when the mastermind loses his memories and can't recall where he stashed the loot and resulting in a manic quest that transcend reality, desire, and hynoptic suggestion involving the mob boss behind the heist (Vincent Cassel), the amnesiac fine art auctioneer (James McAvoy), and his hypnotist (Rosario Dawson). Sounds just fine for a crime thriller film directed by the impeccable Danny Boyle.

The Award-winning British film-maker that brought us Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later, and the unforgettable Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games is back in the game with Trance. Set to be released in the US on April 5th, 2013, Trance looks to be promising material both based on the credential as well as the freshly-released first trailer.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer followed by some nifty posters released thus far for the film.

And here are the official set images from the film.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

TRANCE, directed by Oscar®-winning filmmaker Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours) and co-written by Oscar®-nominated long term collaborator John Hodge (Shallow Grave, Trainspotting) is a seductive and enigmatic thriller starring James McAvoy, Vincent Cassel and Rosario Dawson.

Fine art auctioneer Simon (McAvoy), in league with a gang led by underworld boss Franck (Cassel), plots the audacious theft of a masterpiece by Goya from a major public auction. When Simon double-crosses the gang during the robbery, Franck retaliates violently and knocks him unconscious.

In the aftermath of the heist, Simon sticks stubbornly – and perhaps shrewdly – to his claim that the violent trauma has left him with no memory of where he stashed the artwork.

Unable to coerce the painting’s location from Simon, Franck and his associates reluctantly join forces with a charismatic hypnotherapist (Dawson) in a bid to get him to talk. But as they journey deeper into Simon’s jumbled psyche the boundaries between reality and hypnotic suggestion begin to blur and the stakes rise faster and far more dangerously than any of the players could have anticipated.

Trance is currently scheduled to be released on April 5, 2013.

The American Scream: First Look - Undead Monday

Posted by Grey

This Undead Monday, we take a look at The American Scream, a new documentary feature film from Michael Stephenson on an intriguing subject matter: Haunted houses decorations during Halloween.

We knew for a fact that Americans love Halloween and embraces its macabre theme with an incredible enthusiasm. But little do we comprehend the depth people would go in transforming their own houses into one hell of a haunted house for the sole purpose of scaring strangers during Halloween until we check out the first trailer for this nifty little documentary film, The American Scream.

First premièred last year on the Chiller Channel, the feature documentary film is directed by Michael Stephenson, the film-maker famous for his previous critically acclaimed documentary film, Best Worst Movie. Chronicling the making of the 1990 horror B film, Troll, as well as its subsequent status as a cult phenomenon poster child for films so god-awful that it is good, it is interesting to note that Stephenson was also the child actor who played the protagonist role in the film. With The American Scream, Stephenson looked at the fascinating subject of everyday Americans and the incredible resolve they have in creating their own haunted houses.

With no further ado, hit the jump to check out the official trailer of the documentary film.

And here's the awesome poster for the documentary film conjured by artist Johnny Sampson.

RED 2: First Look

Posted by Grey

"Retired, Extremely Dangerous". And back in business this August. We take a First Look at the sequel to 2010 's RED, an action film based on the limited comic book series created by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner.

Back in 2010, we saw the release of "RED," an action film with a somewhat quirky concept that met moderate success at the box office and mostly positive reviews with the critics. Apparently, that particular mix of success are perceived to be good enough to warrant a sequel. And like all Hollywood treatments, the sequel aims to be bigger and badder. Thus, as a result, "Red", the darkly endearing three-issue comic book mini-series created by writer Warren Ellis and artist Cully Hamner, has amazingly spawned yet another live-action adaptation of some sorts.

Directed by Dean Parisot, the director that brought us the impressive Galaxy Quest, RED 2 is set to pit former CIA operative Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) against his former team-mate, Victoria (Helen Mirren). In line with what we mentioned to be the "bigger and badder" theme, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lee Byung Hun, David Thewlis, Neal McDonough, and Anthony Hopkins will be rounding up the cast.

With no further ado, hit the jump to check out the first trailer of the film.

The posters released thus far for the film.

Here's the official synopsis of the film:

In RED 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.

RED 2 is currently scheduled to be released on August 2, 2013.

S-VHS: First Look - Undead Monday

Posted by Grey

Making a haste return to Sundance this year, we take a First Look at S-VHS, the sequel to last year's Sundance horror darling anthology film, V/H/S.

Last year at the Sundance Film Festival, we saw the release of indie anthology horror film, V/H/S, and was intrigued by its promise of a refreshing take on the run-of-the-mill Found Footage horror film genre. With the overall success that the indie film had, a sequel was rushed into production late last year and made its debut at this year's Sundance.

In line with the theme set up by the original film, S-VHS promised to improve over its predecessor much like its namesake over the VHS tapes. With an expanded line-up of notable indie film-makers like Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun), Gareth Evans (The Raid: Redemption), Timo Tjahjanto (Macabre), Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale (Blair Witch Project), the film also featured returning directors Simon Barrett (A Horrible Way to Die) as well as Adam Wingard (You're Next).

With no further ado, here's the first trailer to the film.

The first official set image for the film.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

Searching for a missing student, two private investigators break into his abandoned house and find another collection of mysterious VHS tapes. In viewing the horrific contents of each cassette, they realize there may be terrifying motives behind the student’s disappearance.

S-VHS made its première on January 19 at Sundance and will be released domestically on a later date.

A Good Day to Die Hard: New Trailer & Posters

Posted by Grey

Continuing their efforts to emphasize to us that next year's Valentine's Day will be A Good Day to Die Hard, 20th Century Fox has released a slew of new promotional materials for the fifth instalment of one film franchise that lives up to its namesake: Die Hard.

First and foremost, a "Yippee-Ki-Yay," complimentary of The Daily Zombies, is due here. For A Good Day to Die Hard, the fifth instalment of the one film franchise that lives up to its namesake: Die Hard, has been confirmed to be rated R. So for those are concerned that this would be a watered-down entry of the hard-hitting, action-packed series like its predecessor, Live Free or Die Hard, can now rest assured.

Apart from this exhilarating piece of good news for director John Moore's fifth entry in the series, 20th Century Fox has released a slew of new promotional materials to remind everyone that this upcoming Valentine's Day is A Good Day to Die Hard. First up, we take a look a new infographic poster of the original 1988 Die Hard that are indicative of the level of carnage we witnessed in the now-classic action film. The infographic poster is the first in a series that will be released for each entry in the film franchise leading up to its fifth, A Good Day to Die Hard.

Hit the jump to check out the latest trailer.

In this TV spot entitled "Is That All You Got?", the R rating is confirmed.

For those who checked out our First Look as well as the second trailer of the film, we are pretty certain you will agree that the fifth entry of the series looks to be a film filled with explosive action, much like its four predecessors. Nevertheless, based on an (obviously) unofficial survey, 99.9% of male viewers who watched the first two trailers thought that the most memorable scene is not some random explosion or even the duo of John McClane Sr. and Jr. jumping out of the building, but this:

Clearly realizing this fact, 20th Century Fox has released a good amount of official set images of the film with a healthy portion dedicated to Yuliya Snigir, the hot Russian actress/model. So, without further ado, hit the jump to check out these images.

And here are the recently-released posters for the film.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

Iconoclastic, take-no-prisoners cop John McClane, for the first time, finds himself on foreign soil after traveling to Moscow to help his wayward son Jack–unaware that Jack is really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist. With the Russian underworld in pursuit, and battling a countdown to war, the two McClanes discover that their opposing methods make them unstoppable heroes.

A Good Day to Die Hard is currently scheduled to be released on February 14, 2013.
